Nobilio Leads UCLA to 4th at Pac-12s

EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 17 UCLA women's golf team finished in fourth place (+17, 881) at the Pac-12 Championships hosted by Eugene Country Club on Wednesday. Alessia Nobilio led the Bruins' lineup, tying for third place at 1-over 217 in the first postseason tournament of her career.
 
Nobilio, who picked up her fourth top-5 finish of the season, shot a 1-over 73 in the final round with a pair of birdies on both the front and back nine. Junior Emilie Paltrinieri tied for ninth (+4, 220) to improve by 29 placings from her last Pac-12 Championships in 2020-21 where she tied for 38th (+16, 229). Each of Paltrinieri's top-10 finishes this season have come in three of her last four tournaments.
 
Paltrinieri shot a 1-over 73 on day three with three birdies scattered throughout her round.
 
Freshman Caroline Canales was the only other Bruin to finish in the top 20, tying for 19th with a tournament score of 6-over 222. Canales sunk three birdies between holes seven and 11 after bogeying three of her first six holes. She finished the third round at 3-over 75.
 
Junior Emma Spitz tied for 26th at 8-over 224 following a 3-over 75 in her final round.
 
Zoe Campos, who entered in as a substitution for Ty Akabane in the second round, scored a 6-over 78 in round three.
 
Now, the Bruins await their regional selection expected on April 27. The NCAA Regionals are scheduled for May 9-11. Twelve teams will be featured at each regional site.

The NCAA Championships will be held at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., from May 20-25.
